How do I get to futurehippie?

How far is futurehippie from the airport?

About 60 min by car. Easiest and cheapest way is to go by Navigo.

What do I need to consider before coming to Thailand?

If you have a health problem, please discuss with your doctor and let them know that you are travelling overseas.

What should I bring with me?

You should bring comfortable clothes, earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, mosquito repellent, a re-usable water bottle, books, swimsuit and beachtowel, camera, maybe some treats which aren’t available in Thailand and a raincoat if you’re joining us in rainy season. There are also many shops in Koh Samui where you will get those items. Regarding the Yogaequipment: We provide mats and probs but of course you’re welcome to bring your own mat, if you feel more comfortable.

Do I need a Visa for Thailand?

For some countries there are special requirements. Most countries will get a 30 day visa upon arrival. Please check the details in advance.

Check-in and Check-out

When is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is monday to saturday from 10am to 4pm. Your room will be ready latest in the early afternoon. Check-out from your room is monday to saturday until 10am but since you booked the whole day you can join the program, meals and use bathrooms.

My flight arrives late at night. Can I still check in?

We would appreciate if you can check-in until 4pm. If due to an delay or cancellation you need to check-in later please give us a call in advance.

My flight doesn’t leave until the evening. Can I have late check-out?

You’re welcome to use our facilities and join the program and meals anyway since you’re booking days with us. Check-out from the room is 10am. You can store your luggage with us and use another shared bathroom of course.

Food and Beverage

Do you have beer and wine or can I have to bring my own?

We don’t allow alcohol and drugs at futurhippie. Please respect our policy and don’t bring anything with you.

I like to eat meat. Do you have something for me?

Sorry but we don’t. But there are many local and western restaurants which do so. We encourage you to try to be vegan for your stay with us.

I’m allergic to gluten, peanuts, mushrooms etc.

Please let us know in advance about your diet and allergies so that we can plan with our kitchenteam. See our contact page.

Environment

Are there bugs and mosquitoes?

Unfortunately there are because we’re in nature. We do the best we can to reduce the impact of bugs naturally. We recommend to bring some repellant with you. Best way to avoid mosquitoes is to wear long sleaves and pants in the early morning and late afternoon.

How is the weather in Koh Samui?

Koh Samui is a tropical island with 3 different seasons. The dry season is from December to March. The hot seasons starts in April and goes until August. Expect rainy season from September to November. But it is safe to say Koh Samui is a year round destination as it never rains constantly here.

Insurance and Safety

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. We highly recommend. Check with your credit card as they often offer travel insurance.

How many rooms do you have?

We have 6 bungalows in total. Some are having their own facilities, some have shared bathrooms. Regarding to your needs, you can choose in-between more space for yourself or share a bungalow as well. If you’re traveling on a budget, you’re welcome to sleep in our tipi tent.
Maximum capacity is around 10 guests.

I’m traveling by myself but my budget doesn’t allows me to book a private room!?

You can stay in our tipi tent or share one bungalow, if available. We’re making sure that you easily find new friends and that the same gender shares the room, if you wish so.

Do the rooms have windows or are they totally open to the elements?

Every Bungalow has windows and a fan. We also provide mosquito nets for an undisturbed sleep.

Can I stay in another hotel or guesthouse and participate in your program?

Yes you can. We offer our program also to guests from “outside”. You can pay for the classes and meals as you go. If you wanna join the meals in the evening, please let us know in advance.

internet and Communication

Do you provide WiFi?

Yes. We offer a high-speed WiFi for all guests. You can additionally use our working space.

Is there a silence time at futurehippie?

Yes. We encourage our guests and team to practice silence from 10pm to 6am. Sleep is really important for our health. To not disturb your sleep and others, we ask you to turn off the lights by 10pm. Before the morning Yogasession we also recommend to keep the silence or reduce conversation to a minimum. During the day you’ll have plenty of time to make new friends and use the Internet.

Reservation,Cancellation and Payments

What happens if I need to cancel?

Our retreats are fully transferable but the deposit is non-refundable.

What is the minimum stay at futurehippie?

We want you to become part of the community but we know, due to jobs and things in life, that this is sometimes not possible. Minimum stay is 3 nights / 4 days.

Can I extend my stay?

Yes, if you decide that you would like to extend your stay while at futurehippie this is possible as long as we have availability.

Yoga and Meditation

What level of yoga do you teach?

If you are a beginner, our teachers will help you with assistance, adjustments and modifications and if you are more advanced, our teachers will help you progress your practice to the next level. You can also book a private session if there’s a specific request.

Which style of yoga do you teach?

We teach different styles at futurehippie. Usually the morning classes are more energic to get the energy going. The afternoons are a bit slower pace to wind down. Change to Yoga & more if you wanna know more about different Yogastyles.

Do you teach Meditation?

Yes, we do teach meditation. It can be part of the Yogaclass in the morning or afternoon or we practice a specific meditation in communityclass. We teach a variety of different meditation techniques including mindfulness meditation, active meditation, dance meditation and guided meditation.
